Ok, I am trying to cut through the dollar tree cutting boards and am having no luck at all. I am using my Creality Falcon 10w laser and I have tried down to 200mm/m and 20 passes at 80% power and even at 100% power and I can not get through. I will have some parts that burn through but other parts do not. I have even tried to put the laser closer to the wood thinking it needed to be a bit closer to get all the way but that did not help either. Is it just the wood that is used that I won't be able to ever cut through with a 10w diode?KnightRid wrote: ↑Tue Nov 22, 3:37 pm Ok, I am trying to cut through the dollar tree cutting boards and am having no luck at all. The only laser to date that has cut through a DT bamboo board for me is the Atezr 20W. See my review video.

Maybe a jig where I can flip the board over and cut it again from that side..... This is what I tried and it does work but if it doesn't go through with some of the intricate patterns it can be a bear to try and get the rest cut out!! Weather is getting warmer here so I might play around with it again and see what I can do. Always fun to find new ways to do things Hi my name is Mike and I use a Roly Automation LaserMATIC10 and a Creality Falcon 10w diode laser.
I know it has been a while since you posted it.
I am able to cut my bamboo cutting boards by making a template then cutting from both sides.
I am using an Xtool D1 Pro 20 watt with air assist; I set my speed at 300mm per second and my power to 70%. I make 3 passes then turn the board over and precisely align (0.001, not much room for error) the board then make 3 more passes.
Once finished I will have a very small line in the middle (absolutely no way to be perfect) which I clean up with a Dremmel tool.
Of course, depending upon your laser, temperature, and climate you may have to adjust your speed and power.
If you have found a better solution I would love to hear it. If not maybe this will help.
mss wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 8:55 am I have not done this, but I wonder if lowering the laser after the first few passes would help. This would lower the focal point to the area being cut after some of the material was removed. May be faster and more accurate than flipping it over. Let us know what you find that works.I had thought of that but I did not think that the focal point could be lowered enough to actually cut through completely and I really did not want to risk smoking my laser.
