Rubber & Plastics
PE is short for polyethylene, and there are many types of PE gloves, including HDPE gloves, LDPE gloves, CPE gloves and TPE gloves. So what is the difference between them? Let's talk about it!
PE gloves, including LDPE gloves and HDPE gloves, are the cheapest disposable plastic gloves on the market. The price is the main reason why it sells well.
In Fengyi Commodity, our HDPE gloves and LDPE gloves are made of food grade plastic resin material, which is food safe and ideal for food preparation. It's also a great choice for short-term applications like the care sector or catering.
Why PE gloves are cheaper than CPE gloves and TPE gloves? PE gloves can be blown very thin, so the price is better for customers. Fast food restaurants and eateries are the main users of PE gloves.
CPE gloves, cast Polyethylene gloves, are made of polyethylene, a kind of organic compound —resin, created during the polymerization process of ethynylene.
Polyethylene is known as a “commodity” resin since it can be produced in high volumes at low costs. It’s also the most commonly used kind of plastic in the world. Many other products are made of polyethylene including food wrap, detergent bottles, and shopping bags, among others.
Related links:CPE gloves were invented for the food service and food processing industries. It is a great alternative to vinyl or latex gloves. CPE gloves offer many positive benefits — most notably their durability. They also tend to be heavier than TPE gloves.
Workers can use a pair of CPE gloves all day without breaking them. It fits the hand well, that's something PE gloves can't do.
TPE gloves, a step-up from CPE, are made of thermoplastic elastomers, polymers that can be molded more than once when heated. Thermoplastic elastomers also have the same elasticity as rubber.
Industrial fabricators classify thermoplastic elastomers as “specialty” plastic resins for two reasons. First they're produced at lower volumes than "commodity" resins like polyethylene and at higher costs as well. Secondly, they're used for more specialized applications. Besides TPE gloves, products including adhesives and footwear are manufactured using thermoplastic elastomers.
TPE gloves are another excellent alternative for vinyl gloves since they're less expensive. They're also a good alternative for poly gloves. Like CPE gloves, TPE gloves are designed for the food service and food processing industries.
